If you have an interest in art or religion or both, several schools provide opportunities to study either discipline. Schools offering programs in art history and biblical theology can provide you with undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field. Degrees in these fields can lead to a variety of career options as educators, researchers or even in professional ministry or as an art curator. Program emphases tend to vary by institution based on the expertise of faculty members. - Duke University is one school offering programs in both biblical theology and art history. Duke has an established reputation for its programs in both history and theology. The art history department offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate art history major and a Ph.D. program at the graduate level that is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to research. The Duke Divinity School offers various programs in biblical theology. Some of these programs are offered in conjunction with the graduate school of religious studies which is separate from the divinity school. The divinity school offers the Master of Theology and the Master of Theological Studies. The former program is a one-year degree program, while the latter is a two-year degree. Those who wish to pursue a Ph.D. must do so through the graduate religion program.

The university is a Roman Catholic institution, but many of its religious studies programs are administered by scholars of Protestant, Catholic and Jewish backgrounds. Notre Dame offers a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in art history, along with the opportunity to combine both degree programs into one. The theology department at Notre Dame, like the program at Duke, offers various master's degree programs in Christian theology such as the Master of Theological Studies and the Master of Divinity. At the graduate level, Notre Dame offers the Ph.D. with several areas of concentration: Judaism and Christianity in the ancient world; history of Christianity; world religions; systematic theology; liturgical studies; and moral theology/ethics.

The School of Theology offers an undergraduate major and minor in the field. At the graduate degree level, Duquesne offers the Master of Arts in Theology as well as a Ph.D. in the area of systematic theology. The art history program at Duquesne is offered as an undergraduate major or minor and covers the history of art from ancient history through the present.
