Activity on How to Make a Name Badge
- 1). Break off a piece of polymer clay approximately the size of a large marble. The size of the clay will depend on the desired size of the name badge. Use a rolling pin, a can of spray paint or any cylindrical object to roll the clay into an even piece about 1/8th inch thick.
- 2). Use a cookie cutter to cut the clay into the desired shape. Choose a star, heart, or any shape you wish. Make a perfect circle with a drinking glass or a biscuit cutter. Write your name on the name tag with a toothpick.
- 3). Cover a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper, then lay the name tag on the baking sheet. Bake the polymer clay name tags according to the directions on the package. Remove the name tags from the oven and allow them to dry.
- 4). Wipe the cooled name badge with a small amount of craft paint. Wipe away the excess paint with a clean paper towel so the letters will stand out. Allow the paint to dry. Apply a thin coat of polyurethane glaze to protect the name tag and make it shiny, or leave the badge "as is."
- 5). Glue a 1 1/4 inch pin back to the back side of the name badge, using an instant-dry glue.
