How to Get Curls Fast Without Heat
- 1). Try old-fashioned pin curls. Clip the top of your hair out of the way. Starting with 1-inch sections at the back of the hair, spray the section lightly with hair spray or plain water.
- 2). Wind the hair into a coil around your finger, starting with your finger close to your scalp and winding to the end of the strand. Fasten the coil in place with a clip. For tight curls, clip the pin curls flat against your head. For larger, looser curls, hold the coils with one hand while you slide your finger out, then stand the coils upright and fasten them to your head at the bottom of the loop.
- 3). Remove the clips once your hair is dry. Spread your fingers out and slide them into your hair about 1 inch above the scalp. Shake your hands gently to loosen the curls.
- 1). Make your own curlers. Start with small paper bags, such as sandwich bags. Tear them vertically into six strips and tear off the bottoms.
- 2). Spray a small strand of hair lightly with hair spray or water. Place one paper strip under the end of the hair strand and wind the strand around the paper. Fold the paper ends over the curl to secure it.
- 3). Roll the paper curl all the way to the scalp for all-over curls. For loose curls at the ends of long hair, roll only a few inches at the bottom.
- 1). Use inexpensive foam rods. Spray a section of hair lightly with water, hair spray or setting lotion.
- 2). Wrap the strand of hair around the one end of the spiral rod and roll it up to the scalp.
- 3). Bend the end of the rod underneath the rolled-up curl and around to the front, pushing it underneath the curl to hold it in place.
- 4). Remove the rods when the hair is totally dry.
