5 Reasons to Choose an iPad

101 9
Since the launch of the iPad in 2010, the tablet computer market has been very fast growing due to many manufacturers launching new devices on Android (the Samsung Galaxy Tab range leading the way) and Windows (in this case, the Microsoft Surface leads the way) operating systems. This means in some cases, it has become difficult to make a decision over which device to choose. However, Apple's iPad remains a firm favourite amongst most users with a 63% market share at the end of 2013.

So why do people choose the iPad over the other devices available to them on the tablet computer market? Here are 5 reasons why:
  1. Apps
as it is the case with all other Apple devices, your iPad will be linked straight to the Apple app store, which means you will have access to a rich and diverse selection of apps. These range from personal finance to games, news and weather.

  2. Battery Life
anyone switching from an Android or a Windows mobile device will tell you how impressed they are with the battery life on their new Apple device. The battery on an iPad can last for days even if you are carrying processor intensive tasks; especially if you save power by turning off 3G when you aren't using it or by reducing the screen brightness.

  3. A beautiful screen
even though retina display doesn't really mean much, the screen resolution on Apple's iPad range is very nice to look at even on the smaller devices like the iPad air or the iPad mini. For example, the screen resolution is 2048 by 1536 on the iPad while the screen resolution on Microsoft's Surface 2 is 1920 by 1080 and a pixel density of 264 ppi.

  4. Flexibility
while both Android and Windows tablets would allow you to remote access your PC none of them really offer the same amount of flexibility of the iPad. It allows you to play games, check the weather and work without much strain; making it a very good all-rounder.

  5. User-friendly
unlike many other tablet devices, the iPad requires very little customisation and many applications are built in prior to purchase. Basically like many other Apple devices, the iPad works straight out of the box as very little setup is required. What's more, the touch screen is a lot more responsive than on many Android or Windows tablets which means it is very easy to use.

The iPad will probably remain a market leading device for years to come as it is easy to use, flexible, offers amazing graphics and a vast array of applications. All this should convince even the staunchest of Apple's opponents that the iPad is a good device.
