DIY Rain Water Tank
- 1). Select the area from which you're going to receive the rain water. The best place is a rain spout/gutter run off from the roof of a house or a shed so you can catch as much rain water as possible.
- 2). Cut the rain gutter downspout one foot higher than the barrel. The barrel will stand around 3 1/2 feet tall.
- 3). Place the barrel underneath the downspout and check to make sure the water is going to drip into it. Place the mosquito netting across the top of the barrel and stretch it tight.
- 4). Tie the netting to the barrel with the rope. This ensures the netting doesn't blow away and keeps a clean tank for you to consume from.
