Depending on your personality, will power and your natural tolerances against addictions, kicking the nicotine habit will possibly be one of the hardest things that you will ever have to do.
If you have children however, you can use this to help motivate yourself to stop smoking or keep on the right path if you've already quit.
Not only will you reap the benefits of ridding your life of tobacco but your children will be much better off too.
Children often imitate the actions and behavioral patterns of their parents.
If you smoke then it is only natural that your children will be at greater risk of developing the habit as well.
All the male adults in my immediate family smoked and it was almost inevitable that I started too.
If you quit then your children are much less likely to be tempted to try it.
Just think of all the money that you will save.
It may not seem all that much for a pack of cigarettes but think of how it would mount up over the course of a year.
You can spend the savings on your children and treat them to the cinema, days out, new clothes or whatever you like.
You can also pass your health benefits onto your children.
Over a period of time after you quit your lungs and system in general will get cleaner and cleaner, giving you a much greater level of cardiovascular fitness and stamina.
You can use all this new energy to play with the children.
Make the decision to quit and you'll be healthier, happier and even more popular than you are now with the kids.
