- 1). Decide where you want to put the mixer. You may have a dedicated studio or some other room where you record sound. Make sure you place the mixer where you can hear sound clearly.
- 2). Plug the mixer into its own dedicated electrical wall socket. Avoid sharing its power source with other equipment, such as a lighting dimmer.
- 3). Run audio cables to the mixer. You must connect audio cables for each type of input or output you will use. To reduce the possibility of interference, keep the audio cables separate from any dimming wire and place the audio and lighting cables at right angles.
- 4). Label each cable you're using with the mixer so you can readily identify its source or purpose.
