How to Choose an Embroidery Machine
- 1). Decide what you will be using the embroidery machine for, such as for business or personal use. If you are going to do multiple types of the same design such as logo embroidery, a 4-head embroidery machine will work the best. If you are using the machine to make personal items such as personalized gifts, a single head machine would be more suitable.
- 2). Consider the hoop size and sewing field when choosing an embroidery machine. Embroidery machines that have a small hoop size limit the size design that you can sew. Look for the standard sizes which are 4-by-4, 5-by-7 or 6-by-8 inches. Some embroidery machines go up to 8-by-12 inches.
- 3). Determine if the brand embroidery machine that you would like to buy has support available. They should have support in your area to offer training or technical support when necessary.
- 4). Find out the embroidery format for the machine that you will be choosing. Each brand embroidery machine has their own specific format. The format should be readily available, especially online.
