When faced with tedious and unpleasant duties like studying (especially college), youngsters always want to put things off.
They are still young and full of energy, and they feel like they can always do the boring stuff later.
They prefer to travel, marry and raise kids, or even work so that they can earn money.

She will still need to earn enough course credits (e.

her grant may require her to study at least 20 hours a week), but the freedom of NOT being able to study at midnight after she puts her kids to bed means that she does not have to give up the time she spends with her children or the overtime pay needed to make ends meet.
She also saves a lot of time and money on transport, because she does not have to rush to attend evening classes on campus.
Many scholarships for single mothers are willing to fund not only four-year Bachelors degrees, but also two-year associate degrees from community colleges.

Despite their lack of flexibility, government grants for single moms should not be neglected.
