Turning a Closet Into an Entertainment Center
- 1). Choose a closet to transform by accommodating the size of your equipment. The closet needs enough space to contain mounting equipment, shelves, TV set, game center or computer. Location is also important. Entertainment centers work well for living rooms, bedrooms or family rooms.
- 2). Remove any doors, hinges, shelves and racks, so you have a clear viewing space. Look for an electrical outlet you can use inside the closet. If there is none, you can always use and extension with multiple electrical outlets for you to plug in your appliances. Be sure to place the entertainment center near an electrical source.
- 3). Move TV stand or store bought entertainment center into the closet space. Most department stores sell mounting equipment, TV stands and cabinets in their home entertainment section.
- 4). Place your electronics and media like CDs and DVDs onto the TV stand or entertainment center. Plug in all electronics to a nearby electrical outlet. Connect all audio and video cables to their respective equipment.
