Geography

• The cinnamon bear lives in the West in states such as Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado and Montana. Its range also extends into parts of Canada, including national parks such as Banff and Jasper.
  
  

Size

• There is little if any difference in terms of size between a black bear and a cinnamon bear. The male cinnamon bear, depending on its environment, can be as heavy as 600 pounds and stand 3 feet tall at the shoulder.
  
  

Diet

• The diet of a cinnamon bear includes nearly anything it can consume. As omnivores, cinnamon bears will eat both animal and plant matter.
  
  

Reproduction

• It takes about seven months for a cinnamon bear to gestate. A delayed implanting of the embryo in the womb of the female bear allows her to gain a large store of fat before becoming pregnant; two or three bear cubs arrive while she hibernates, typically in January.
  
  

Time Frame

• After about 17 months, the cubs are large enough to leave the mother bear, according to the seaworld.org website.
