    Charge Your iPod on Your Computer

    • 1). Turn on your computer. The iPod will not charge if it's plugged into the wall but not turned on.

    • 2). Connect the iPod to the correct end of the USB cable.

    • 3). Attach the USB end of the cable to the USB port of the computer. Depending on how low the battery is, you might need to keep it there for a few hours. Apple.com says a typical iPod charges to full capacity within 4 hours, but will take longer to charge if you use it while it's charging.

    Charge Your iPod on a Wall Charger

    • 1). Plug the wall charger into an outlet or surge protector. Make sure the surge protector is turned on if you use this method.

    • 2). Connect the iPod to the correct end of the USB cable.

    • 3). Attach the USB end of the cable to the USB port of the wall charger. Allow it to charge for up to 4 hours.

    Charge Your iPod in Your Car

    • 1). Plug the car charger into the cigarette lighter of your car.

    • 2). Connect the iPod to the correct end of the USB cable.

    • 3). Attach the USB end of the cable to the USB port of the car charger. Allow it to charge for up to 4 hours.
