A Hotel Towel Rack Brings the Spa Home

I've had the privilege of enjoying a few vacations at wonderful hotels.
Whether it was a retreat in British Columbia, a 600-year-old structure in Venice, a suite overlooking the beach in Maui, or an ancient manor house in the English countryside, they all had distinctive features.
But it is hard for me to think of a hotel as exceptional if the bathroom is not stylish, comfortable, and functional.
It needs sufficient room, and it needs to provide a place for everything.
Maybe most important of all, the bathroom needs to have great towels.
And those towels need to be handy; a fully-stocked hotel towel rack is essential.
Even if I'm staying overnight at a budget motel off the interstate, I want to see the hotel towel rack fully stocked with good quality linens.
If I'm traveling with my two daughters, I'm always happy to see an extra few towels neatly folded and waiting for us to use.
The hotel towel rack is an interesting piece of bathroom hardware.
It typically has a storage shelf to hold folded towels or spare bathroom tissue.
It provides space to hang multiple towels-two or three rods are not uncommon.
While it is a common practice to discard towels to the hotel laundry after a single use, an increased awareness in green practices means many hotel guests are willing to reuse a towel after a single use rather than add it to the laundry.
If the hotel provides sufficient hanging space to dry towels that have been used a single time, more visitors may be likely to embrace this environmentally-friendly practice.
The typical hotel towel rack provides enough hanging space to do this.
If you watch home design shows and browse home improvement magazines, the key word you'll hear when the discussion turns to bathroom renovations is "spa.
" Any features in your bathroom that contribute luxury and understated style add to that spa treatment.
One of those additions can easily be a hotel towel rack.
If you decide to add a hotel towel rack in your bath, you have several options to consider.
The classic wall shelf gives you a place to store spare bathroom essentials and a set of folded towels.
The two or three hanging bars give you plenty of space to dry towels.
You can also find a hotel towel rack that expands your linen storage by providing space to stack washcloths, hand towels, and bath towels in a small amount of wall space.
If your bathroom has floor space to spare, you can buy an elegant free-standing hotel towel rack that provides two or three rods for drying space.
The most indulgent spas provide you with warm towels after your treatment.
You can bring this elegance home with you and splurge on a heated hotel towel rack.
If you are renovating your bath, you can go high end and install a hard-wired towel warmer.
This luxury item is available in a variety of sizes, styles and finishes.
Add a programmable thermostat that lets you set a timer for the heated hotel towel rack, and you can step out of the shower every day to a warm bath sheet.
With features like this, you'll feel like you never left your holiday retreat.
Hotels are places where we sometimes go to retreat and to pamper ourselves.
The best ones are designed with luxury and convenience in mind.
Hanging towels isn't something we put a lot of thought into every day.
But adding something as simple as a hotel towel rack to your bath can include a little special treatment to your everyday routine.
