How to Create a Windows Vista System Restore Disc
- 1). Download and install BitTorrent or another torrent program. These are file sharing programs used to download large files from peer-to-peer networks, which will enable you to easily obtain a copy of the needed Windows Vista system CD.
- 2). Obtain the torrent for your particular version of Windows Vista (either 32 or 64 bit) from the link in the Resources. After downloading this torrent, your torrent program will automatically open and begin downloading a copy of the disk from everyone linked to the Torrent network.
- 3). Insert a blank CD-R into your computer and burn the disk image (the ISO file you downloaded during Step 2) to the CD using a commercially available CD burning program.
- 4). Place the newly created restore disk into your computer's CD drive and reboot the computer to test it. Press any key when indicated by the startup messages to boot from CD, which should take you directly to the installation screens for Windows Vista. Cancel out of the screen and place the disc in a safe location in the event that you ever need it.
