Elevation at the Time of Death

In eastern spiritual circles the term transcendentalist refers to those who via various forms of yoga seek to be elevated according to their goal.
Hatha-yogis, jnana-yogis, dhyana-yogis and bhakti-yogis are all eligible to enter into the transcendental realm, or the spiritual world.
In our current condition we have no clear perception of the spiritual realm.
The term 'yoga' means 'to link', and various forms of yoga are means to link to the spiritual realm, beyond the body and mind.
The Law of Attraction is such that we attract whatever we focus on the most, and give most of our energy to.
This law has it's ultimate application in yoga, by which if our focus is on linking with the spiritual energy, our destination will be the spiritual realm as a natural consequence.
The ancient scriptures of India, the Vedas, teach that the sub-total of our activities in this lifetime will determine if we are obliged to accept another physical body at the time of the disintegration of our current bodies, or not.
Just as a student studies for a number of years, sits for an examination, and if passes receives a degree, similarly, in the context of life itself, if we practise during our lives and pass the test at the time of death, we may be fortunate enough to not be obliged to continue in the cycle of repeated birth and death, but rather be eternally present in the spiritual world.
Those who are satisfied with temporary life, temporary pleasure, and temporary acquisitions are, according to Bhagavad Gita, considered to be not very intelligent.
If we understand our eternal nature as spiritual beings, why then would we place so much emphasis on a temporary situation? If we live in an apartment and the landlord requests us to leave we may become upset, although not if we move to a nicer apartment.
Because permanence is intrinsic to our spiritual nature we naturally prefer a permanent residence.
Very few of us want to die, because in actuality we are permanent.
Nor do we want to grow old or be diseased, because these external conditions are also non-permanent states.
Just as we strive to elevate our living situation in these lifetimes, through linking with the spiritual realm we can elevate ourselves to the topmost situation, to an eternal realm full of knowledge and bliss.
And if this sounds too good to be true, if we use these temporary lives as our points of reference, then it most certainly is!
