DIY Surface Wiring
- 1). Lay out the raceway along the pathway taken by the wiring to get a rough determination of the distance needed. Include right angles, corners and other curves and bends.
- 2). Cut the raceway to the needed lengths, using the table saw or heavy-duty scissors. Pop off the top cover of the raceway sections. Lay in the wires.
- 3). Peel off the adhesive backing on the back of the raceway sections. Stick each section to the wall or baseboard as needed.
- 4). Snap all corner and angle adapter pieces as needed. Fine-tune the wiring inside the raceway to provide the proper amount of slack and tension needed for a clean fit into the raceway channel sections.
- 5). Snap the covers of each section back over the raceway pieces to complete the installation. Paint or stain the raceway if desired.
