Hello, my name is Mark Weiss, hair and makeup artist here in New York City. Quite a few of my gray haired, white haired clients have said to me, my hair seems to be yellowing. Is there anything that is like a blue conditioner? And there used to be, but I really haven't seen it much anymore. So, I suggest you know, to make it themselves or I can help make it you know, for them. But whole ingredients is going to be you know, some of your regular conditioner. And I do it little by little for each and every time, I don't keep like a whole bottle full. Which you can, if you make it at home, just make sure that you make it correct. And then, you can just keep using it. But you have to remember, with a blue conditioner, you don't want to use it every single day, use it when it's necessary. Otherwise you will end up getting more of those blue-violet tones. And what you really want, is a blue-violet, a pearlish tone and not just a blue. What I always suggest is, to put a little blue and a little violet into the conditioner. The ones that I usually use are done by Pravana's, the Chroma Silk. So, I just uncap the blue, add just a little bit, like probably about a half or quarter of a pea because you don't want to make it too strong. Otherwise you will end up making blue hair for real. So, we take a little dollop of the blue, just a tiny bit of the purple. And from there, if you put it into a bottle, you can shake it or I always put it into a bowl for when I'm doing this at the salon. And I just mix it up into the bowl, so that everybody can see you know, whats going on. And as you see, I've just turned my conditioner into a blue-violet tone. You don't want to put this on as a leave-in, you want to leave this on for just like 30 seconds to a minute. You know, just monitor you know, what's going on, just look at it. And this is around the tone that you really want, is like a blue-violet tone. So, put it on, make sure it stays on for you know, 30 seconds to a minute and then, rinse. The gray hair, you know, haired clients that have that kind of yellowish tone, which a lot of it comes from the environment. The sun, be it some hair products, hair sprays are a very big thing to make hair you know, turn to a yellowish tone. This will actually counteract that yellowish you know, tone that is getting into the hair and make it to a softer, nicer, vivid white. Thank you very much, my name is Mark Weiss, hair and makeup artist here in New York City.
