How to Make a Shawl Stick
- 1). Measure to a point 5 inches from the top of a bamboo chopstick and mark that point with a pencil.
- 2). Cut through the bamboo chopstick at the point you marked using a saw. You will be left with a 5-inch length of blunt chopstick.
- 3). Use 100-grit sandpaper to smooth out the edge you cut.
- 4). Sand the cut end of the chopstick into a point with sandpaper. This pointy end may be as sharp as you want, as it is the end going through the shawl.
- 5). Smooth the chopstick's rough edges with sandpaper, sanding up and down the length.
- 6). Rub a dab of coconut oil into the shaft of the bamboo, giving it a sleek shine and smooth texture. At this point, the shawl stick is ready to use.
