How to Find the Center of Balance Point on a RC Plane
- 1). Check the instructions that came with your plane or examine the plane itself for a center of gravity indicator. According to rc-airplane-world.com, RC plane plans and pre-manufactured plans should mark the balance point; check before proceeding.
- 2). Travel your finger back one-third the length of the plane toward the main spar line of the plane.
- 3). Place your fingertips under each wing and lift the plane off the ground; let it hang from your fingers.
- 4). Notice how the plane sits. If the plane is level, then you have found the correct balance point. If the plane is not balanced, try moving the battery pack or any gear inside the plane either backward or forward to level the plane out.
