Good Health Matters to the Christians
In every area of life many things are important, but some are more important than others.
So is the issue of health to the Christians and to the world in general - religious or non-religious.
Good health has a lot to do with what we eat, it matters in no small measure.
As a result, the Christians must be selective and highly discriminatory in deciding what food choices they make because even God Himself had this fact in contemplation when He created the world.
"And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food...
" (Genesis 2:9 KJV).
What then is good food? Simply put, it is the food that supports growth, strength, fitness and wellness or well being.
The Christian that preaches, evangelizes; the Christian that produces tracts, plants churches and other godly activities must be in good health to be able to perform effectively and efficiently.
What more can you do than to give your life a sort of better stretch that will enable you to do a bit more to the ministry or vocation that you've chosen to give both your physical and spiritual labor? It is the care and understanding to sustain your will and zeal that may offer justification for your interest and choice.
So, decisions about what to eat, the amount to eat, its mix and more will continue to feature and receive reviews/revisions as the horizon of knowledge expands further.
Therefore, when you hear the word cholesterol for instance, allow yourself to be kicked by interest and inquisitiveness and seek some greater clarification of it so you know what's meant by "good cholesterol" and "bad cholesterol".
We must eat to survive, but we should eat right in order to live and live right too.
The question then becomes: Do we eat to live or live to eat? Emphatically, we eat to live.
Sure, you won't differ with this option.
So, be meticulous in your choices of all that you permit in your system.
Vegetables, fruits and natural fluids for example, will be more helpful than unrestrained quanta of high fibered meals that can do you more harm than good.
Fast foods we now know can over-size us and therefore baits to obesity.
Obesity has its own serious health hazards and it is to be shunned.
Fish is preferred to red meat because of its obvious health benefits.
Milk with reduced fat is better.
You may want to seek expert opinion in this regard.
Choosing wisely will prolong our life span as it will help us to avoid dangerous heart, kidney and liver diseases.
Dietitians and nutritionists are around.
Consult with them and avoid what you're advised to avoid; increase or reduce what you need to increase or reduce.
This will keep you on top.
What's wellness or well being? It is to be in good and sound health; to live in total or relative absence of illness, sickness, infirmity, but to remain in firmness of enjoyment in matters of health.
You're well to the extent of the care you take of yourself.
And fitness is another way of expressing it, which means to be in "the state of being physically healthy and strong.
" To acquire and maintain fitness you must be involved with doing physical exercises.
Exercises have been confirmed to bring soothing reliefs in life-threatening diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure.
Exercises don't have a substitute; they are an added tonic to our entire well being package if we know and are propelled to use them.
However, before hitting the path of exercises, you may well hunt for specialist opinion in terms of the type(s) in relation to your age.
Time per session is to be determined by you, putting your other engagements into due consideration.
But once fixed adherence is necessary together with the value of regularity, keeping misses at very low ebb.
The most tasking part of this problem is how to start, but start you must if, truly, you want to have a fair share of the benefits of physical exercises.
Remember, the value of what you do in life is not limited to you; it affects others so let it affect them positively.
Christians, followers of other great religious faiths and the religious anonymous don't be left out of this crusade.
