    • 1). Move the "hold" switch back and forth to the on and off position.

    • 2). Press "Menu" and the center wheel button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, or until the Apple logo appears on the screen. This procedure will fix most iPod problems. If your iPod is still unresponsive, continue with Step 3.

    • 3). Connect your iPod to the computer and wait for iTunes to open. If you are not using the latest version of iTunes, install the update.

    • 4). Select your iPod from the list in the source window on the left of the screen, then click on the "Summary" selection. You will be notified if your iPod needs a software update, or you will be given the option to restore the iPod.

    • 5). Select "Restore" to restore the iPod to its original settings.
