How Can I Water My Patio Plants While on Vacation?
- 1). Attach a manual water timer to the end of an outdoor water faucet by screwing the hose connector onto the end of the faucet until it is tight. Use the instructions provided with the timer to set it to come on for one or two hours each morning.
- 2). Attach a soaker hose to the bottom of the water timer by turning the nut on the bottom of the water timer until it is secure over the soaker hose.
- 3). Stretch the soaker hose around to the nearest patio plant pot and wrap it loosely around the plant. Push the hose down so that it sits on top of the soil inside the pot.
- 4). Stretch the soaker hose to the next patio plant and repeat the procedure to insert the hose into the pot. Continue using this method until the hose is wrapped around each plant that requires watering.
- 5). Return to the water faucet and turn the handle on. The water flow will not start until the time that you have preset.
