  Perhaps you just purchased a thong or French cut bikini, and are getting ready for that vacation to Florida. You may want to strut your stuff, but you better be careful. According to Thongs 4u, the city of Daytona and other areas in Florida have laws banning skimpy swimsuits.
  
  

State Parks

• State parks in Florida prohibit the wearing of thong style swimwear. According to The Electric Law Library it is unlawful to expose or exhibit one's sexual organs in public or on the private premises of another..." The key word is "exhibit." Even though you may not be naked, you may still be violating the intent of the law by "exhibiting" your private parts.
  
  

Brevard County

• Brevard County is notorious for its stringent ordinances that prohibit the Brazilian "thong" style bikini and any bikini that exposes the buttocks, breast and outline of genitals. The "anti-thong statute" was written with definitions that require a certain percentage of the rump and other specific well defined areas to be covered. This includes men who wear thong bottoms that are too tight and revealing.
  
  

Local Towns and Cities

• Nearly all of the West Coast beaches and respective counties, towns and cities that control those beaches have enacted "thong laws." In October 2002, the City of Daytona enacted an anti-thong law. Its beaches are in the jurisdiction of Volusia County, which allows thongs. However, the parking lots adjoining the beaches are Daytona city property. City police watch and wait for unsuspecting violators. Step out without proper cover up, and you might met by a police officer with a ruler in hand to measure the back of your thong swimsuit. If too much is showing you could be arrested before you even get to the beach. Fines go up to $1,000.
