How to Copy a Rental Agreement

    • 1). Ask the person renting the equipment or property to you for a copy of the agreement once you have both executed it. Most businesses have immediate access to copy machines or printers to create duplicate copies.

    • 2). Make an extra copy of the rental agreement in case you lose yours. Grocery stores, big box stores, public libraries or drug stores often have copy machines that the public can use. Sometimes rental agreements are printed on both sides of the paper, so make sure you copy each side.

    • 3). Scan the agreement if you have a computer and scanner. You can then print out the copy and keep it in your files, while storing the scanned copy on your computer. Put the file in a folder that you can back up in case the file becomes corrupt.
