The Best Ways to Travel to Europe
- The primary way of traveling to Europe is through an airliner. Flights from most all major cities within the United States offer non-stop flights to Europe; however, hubs from the northeast (such as New York or Chicago) offer the best prices because they are closer and less likely to require a stop for fueling before crossing the Atlantic Ocean. There are multiple airlines that provide direct flights to locations in Europe, but those that provide the most flights are American Airlines and U.S. Airways.
- There are many different companies that offer long voyage cruise ships. They depart from different regions along the East Coast (Boston, New York, etc.) and travel to Europe on a multiple-day adventure. These trips, of course, do not come cheap but are an amazing way to travel from the United States to Europe. One company that provides such cruises is the Holland American cruise line, which takes travelers to destinations like the Mediterranean, Rome, the Netherlands and Germany.
- Unfortunately this option is not available for those leaving from North America. However, if you find yourself in Asia, India or Russia, you can hop on a train and let the conductor take you to your destination. The train system is relatively cheap, especially when in Asia and India, and you can see countryside like you have never seen before. The train will not take as long as the cruise ship and will not offer many amenities, at least not when compared to European train systems. When traveling outside of Europe, trains tend to be a little more rustic and slightly rundown. However, overnight the cabins can be transformed into sleeper compartments by a train attendant. Most trains coming from Asia and India will meet up in Europe through Moscow.
