Sugar Scrub is Where It"s At!

Every woman wants the perfect skin you see on the models in magazines and on television.
Of course, the models do not have perfect skin because age, lifestyle, and environment leave their mark on every complexion.
What the models have are talented makeup artists and photographers to make their complexions flawless.
Still, we each dream of having a clear silken complexion, and so we flock to the makeup counters at department stores and haunt aisles of facial products.
We buy the overpriced chemical-laden goop in the pretty bottles and hope for the best.
Why buy into the media hype and glorified images when a handful of sugar can accomplish the same result? Well, as near to perfection as any of us can get.
Sugar is loaded with natural alpha-hydroxy acids.
When used as a facial or body scrub, it leaves the skin as soft and smooth as a baby's butt.
It is cheap, natural, can be used on all skin types, is hypo-allergenic, and even edible! (In case your significant other joins you in the shower).
I started using a homemade sugar scrub when I noticed the forty-four-year-old skin on my throat was beginning to look its age.
I am outdoors a great deal, so I will never have a porcelain complexion, but I was determined to have my skin look at least forty.
It looked pretty good when I was forty.
I add a few drops of water to a handful of sugar and then mix it into a grainy mush in my hand.
I then rub this mess all over my face and throat while in the shower.
I leave the scrub on while I shower so the alpha hydroxy acids can work their magic, and then I rinse well.
The result is silky smooth skin that is much clearer and more pliable-and the scrub only cost me one dollar at my local 99 Cent store! You can add many natural ingredients to sugar scrubs; lemon juice, tea tree oil (use only pharmaceutical grade and in small amounts) to heal blemishes, olive oil, oatmeal, coffee grounds, chamomile tea, or peppermint tea.
These are only a few suggestions of the many ingredients you could use to create your own special blend of sugar scrub.
Forget the fancy over priced creams with the pretentious names in the pretty bottles.
If you want a facial cleanser that will breathe new life into your complexion look no further than your pantry.
Sugar is where it's at, baby!
