Hoover SteamVac Silver Heated Cleaning Instructions
- 1). Press down on the handle just above the tank on the front of the Hoover SteamVac Silver. Pull out to remove the tank.
- 2). Rotate the tank cap, which has three blades and sits on top of the tank, counterclockwise to remove it. Turn the cap over to use it as a measuring cup.
- 3). Fill the cap, up to the fill line, with Hoover Carpet/Upholstery Detergent or Hoover Hard Floor Cleaning Solution, depending on the type of cleaning you're doing. Do not use the wrong type of solution, as this could damage your carpet or floor. Pour the solution into the tank and fill the tank, up to its fill line, with hot tap water.
- 4). Screw the cap clockwise to lock it into place, then return the tank to the SteamVac. The tank will snap into place.
- 5). Press the right foot pedal on the back of the unit to lower the handle. Let the handle go all the way to the floor.
- 6). Move the latches on the side of the recovery tank outward until the tank coves free. Lift up on the tank lid to remove it. Pour any recovered liquid down a drain, then return the tank and close the latches. Bring the SteamVac handle back to an upright position.
- 1). Vacuum the entire floor with a regular dry vacuum before you use your SteamVac.
- 2). Empty the recovery tank and fill the solution tank before you begin cleaning.
- 3). Plug the Hoover SteamVac Silver into an electrical outlet. Step on the right foot pedal to lower the handle, and then step on the left foot pedal to start the SteamVac. Move the SteamVac to the location where you will start cleaning.
- 4). Squeeze the trigger in the handle to start spraying the solution on the floor. Keep the trigger down as you move the SteamVac slowly forward and then slowly back again. Release the trigger and then repeat the forward and back motion over the same area.
- 5). Move to the right or left and repeat the process. Continue until you have covered the entire floor.
- 6). Stop the vacuum and add more solution if the top tank ever runs out. Stop the vacuum and empty the recovery tank if you notice a loss of suction or a high-pitched noise.
- 1). Remove the solution tank and the recovery tank. Fill the solution tank with Hoover cleaner and hot water, but don't put it back on the SteamVac just yet. Empty the recovery tank and replace it on the SteamVac, but don't put the lid on the tank back on.
- 2). Pull up on the front panel of the recovery tank. It will slide up and you can remove it. Place the converter panel, which is attached to one end of the flexible hose, into the space where the front panel was. Open the small door on the front of the SteamVac, located just in front of the recovery tank, labeled "Stair/Upholstery Cleaning Connection." Plug the small hose that comes off the end of the flexible hose into the connector under this door.
- 3). Replace the recovery tank lid, and then place the cleaning solution tank back into place as well. Attach the small brush tool to the connector end of the hose by pushing it onto the connector until it locks into place.
- 4). Plug the SteamVac into an electrical outlet, place it near the stairs or upholstery you want to clean, and then turn it on.
- 5). Hold the small brush tool over the area you want to clean. Pull the trigger and move it slowly forward. Keep the trigger down and pull the tool back while you apply light pressure. If you are cleaning upholstery, do not do the push stroke, just pull the trigger and pull the tool across the upholstery. Release the trigger and repeat everything you just did. Repeat the process for every area of the stairs or upholstery you will be cleaning.
- 6). Refill the solution tank if it runs out before you are done cleaning. Remove and empty the recovery tank if you lose suction while you are cleaning.
