Hi, my name is Guilliano Prieto, a general engineering contractor with Prieto Engineering in Los Angeles, California, and today I will show you how to clean driveway pavers. Driveway pavers are cleaned in a variety of ways. The most simple way to clean a driveway paver is with a push broom and a garden hose, usually done with two people to ensure that the works gets done effectively and efficiently. One person may spray the water downhill while the other person pushes the broom to ensure that all the soot and all the sand goes downhill. The most effective way that I've found to clean driveway pavers is a pressure washer. A pressure washer works off of an engine and a compressor. It uses a garden hose as water to feed it then the compressor pushes out the water at a high rate of speed ensuring that a larger area and more consistency into the driveway gets all the sand and all the soot to move right off of it. Driveway pavers are made up of several different pieces. Within each one of those pieces there's sand that binds them all together. What you want to be careful with when cleaning driveway paver is not to blow the hose right in between the joints. The same thing goes with a pressure washer and the direction of the nozzle spraying into the pavers. You want to back up a little bit off of the pavers and spray consistently from side to side in the direction that the water naturally flows. Ensure that you have a wide spray nozzle when using a pressure washer. Now, I'm going to turn on the machine, going to turn it on and pull the chord. I will now begin to use the pressure washer. The proper technique for using the power washer is to start at the top of the hill and then work your way down the hill.
