How to Start Tomato Seeds in Paper Towels

104 3

    Instructions

    • 1). Lay two paper towels in a stack, one on top of the other. Fold the paper towels in half so the towels form a rectangle.

    • 2). Place three to five seeds on the right half of the paper towel. Fold the left half of the paper towel over the right half to cover the seeds.

    • 3). Place the paper towel containing the seeds in the plastic zip top storage bag. Keep the bag flat against the counter and insert the paper towels slowly to avoid spilling the seeds. Once the paper towel is in the bag, slowly add water until the towels are fully wet, but not drenched. Zip the bag shut while pressing out as much air as possible.

    • 4). Tape the bag in a sunny location with the zipper facing upwards. Leave the bag in this location until the seeds sprout.

    • 5). Remove the bag from the window when seedlings appear. Transfer the seedlings to a small pot of soil and water often.
