How to Repair the Keys on a Dell Inspiron 6000
- 1). Power off your Dell Inspiron 6000 and disconnect the battery from its port on the bottom of the computer. Remove the power cable and open the display screen.
- 2). Insert the tip of your screwdriver underneath any damaged keys and pop them up to free them from the keyboard.
- 3). Turn one of the keys over and use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the plastic frame out from inside it.
- 4). Fit the plastic frame over its particular spot on the keyboard, making sure the frame hooks connect securely with the hinge tabs sticking out of the key space.
- 5). Fit the key over its particular spot and press down on the top of the key until it snaps in place. Repeat the process with the other damaged keys.
