How do I Replace the Interior Driver Side Door Handle on a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado?
- 1). Park the Silverado and turn off its engine. Open the driver's side door.
- 2). Remove the single screw securing the arm rest with a Phillips screwdriver. Use a slotted screwdriver to pry out the arm rest from the door. This will make it easier to remove the door handle assembly.
- 3). Insert a slotted screwdriver in between the door handle assembly and the door. Pry outwards and slide the slotted screwdriver around the edge of the door handle assembly to disengage the retaining tabs. Be very careful as the plastic retaining tabs can break easily.
- 4). Disconnect the electrical switch from the door handle assembly by pulling it out. Pull the door handle assembly off of the door.
- 5). Connect the electrical switch to the replacement door handle assembly and snap it into place, making sure all the retaining tabs align with the slots on the assembly.
- 6). Reattach the arm rest and reinstall the single retaining screw. Close the door.
