How to Fill an HP 96 Ink Cartridge
- 1). Place the cartridge on a paper towel. In case some ink spills, make sure you are working on a surface that is not easily damaged.
- 2). Remove the HP label from the cartridge. Once the label is off, you will see four small holes.
- 3). Fill the syringe with 20 milliliters of black ink.
- 4). Push the tip of the syringe into any of the holes on the cartridge. Slowly inject the ink from the syringe into the hole.
- 5). Place the cartridge back in the printer. Do not put the original HP label back on the cartridge. Run the cartridge through a few cleaning cycles. For best results, print the page provided in the Resources section.
- 6). Let the cartridge sit in the printer unused for eight hours after the cleaning cycles are complete. This will allow the ink to saturate the sponge.
