How to Know if You & a Guy Should Date
- 1). Examine the guy's body language to see if he is into you. A genuine smile, eye contact and a lack of nervous ticks are signs that a guy appreciates your attention. Tightly crossed arms around his chest or crossed legs pointing away are generally signs of tension and disinterest. If he acts relaxed and joyful around you, he is interested in you and you should proceed.
- 2). Analyze past conversations to see if you and your guy are looking for the same thing in the relationship. If you would like a serious relationship but he's is only looking for a casual relationship, you are not compatible. Do not pursue dating him, because one of you will only get hurt.
- 3). Verify whether or not you and the guy communicate well by analyzing your past conversations. Quality communication is key to a successful relationship, even if it is just a casual one. Miscommunication can lead to frustration in a relationship and eventually result in loathing or hostility.
- 4). Take the guy out to do things you enjoy to find out if you both have the same hobbies. Although two people don't necessarily have to like all of the same things to be in a relationship, if you and he have common ground, you will be able to enjoy the same activities for outings and dates.
- 5). Start a conversation about where you both see yourself working in 5 years to see if you and the guy have the same goals. Don't find yourself hindered by dating a person who has completely different goals than you. If you are a highly driven person, dating an undriven person will only result in arguments and hardships in the relationship.
