How to Troubleshoot an Atwood Camper Furnace
- 1). Smell around carefully for gas leaks. If a gas leak is suspected, turn off the furnace and leave the vehicle immediately. Contact a local fire station or gas company, if possible.
- 2). Check to make sure the furnace is properly connected to a working power supply if the heater is not functioning. Reset any fuses or circuit breakers if necessary.
- 3). Ensure the gas valve is on and the furnace is switched "On" if the furnace is still not working properly. Turn the furnace "Off" and wait 5 minutes to allow any gas to clear the lines. Turn the unit back "On" to reset.
- 4). Turn the furnace "Off" and check all vents, ducts and outlets for possible obstructions if the heater is not functioning well. Wipe clean with a dry cloth and turn the furnace "On" to restart.
- 5). Locate the thermostat dial on the front right side of the furnace if the furnace does not seem to be producing enough heat or is producing too much heat. Turn the thermostat clockwise to increase the temperature and counterclockwise to reduce the temperature. Allow at least 1 hour for temperature changes to take effect.
