How to Fit Persian Rugs
- 1). Visually assess and and take pictures of the room where your Persian rug will be used. Determine if a square, rectangular or circular rug will best fit with the shape of the room and furnishings. Choices vary with personal preference.
- 2). Measure the smallest amount of area the rug needs to cover, using a tape measure. Write these down.
- 3). Measure the space for largest possible rug. It may be necessary to move furniture, because your rug will go underneath chairs, china cabinets and so on. Write down these dimensions.
- 4). Determine border space to show all sides of the rug. If you plan to use a large Persian rug, it should be about 25 percent smaller than your room.
- 5). Take photos of furniture in the room to have available when shopping for rugs. The colors in your new Persian rug should should be complimentary rather than an exact match of your furniture.
