So you need to decorate a home office for a creative person, maybe they are a writer or artist.
You will probably find that they need a desk, maybe some book cases and a file cabinet if they are a writer.
If they are an artist they will probably need some easels with extra canvas and a place to store them.
The different options for these types of creative people will vary.
But the object is to make the room so the creative juices keep flowing.
Decorating for someone who writes could take you to the stars and back.
If they write particular genres of fiction, you may decide to decorate towards that field of fiction.
For example, if they write sci-fi or fantasy, it is not inconceivable to have space filled with stars, ships and planets on the ceiling.
Or if they write more towards the fantasy world, perhaps dragons, and castles and faeries and elves and dwarves and maybe even a knight in shining armor.
You might even consider hiring someone to draw or paint a mural on the wall for inspiration.
Book cases may line the walls with a desk and a computer in a corner where they can imagine the world at their fingertips.
For a painter or an artist, you may want to consider splashing the walls with paint splatters in all colors, several easels and of course extra canvas for their masterpieces.
A Drawing desk with pastel pencils and charcoal pencils will also be some items needed as for as supplies, but the main idea is to get their creative juices flowing.
Area rugs don't always have to be placed on the floor.
You can use them as tapestries to help cushion the sound vibrations in a room.
Rugs now come in all colors, all shapes and all kinds of thicknesses and materials.
Paisley looking rugs would be perfect for the historical romance writer, along with a big arm chair and a writing tray.
For accents on the desk, maybe a feather pen and an ink well and of course a globe of the world for travels far, far away.
You might even be able to set the mood even more with a roll top desk.
A writer's home office for their creations could also be turned completely temporary with a space age computer desk that is compacted but well formed with slide in drawers or shelves for space saving.
You might even want to cork a wall so that they can write their ideas on index cards and place them on the wall so they can form their story lines.
A painter may decide to use a cork wall to hang up pictures so that they can be recreated on canvas.
A painter may also want light airy curtains with French doors that open out into nature so that they can paint on the veranda or just observe nature as it happens.
No matter what type of creative mind is behind the office, you can accent with rugs on the floor or as tapestries and give any room, a touch of class.
