How to Disassemble the Hoover Wind Tunnel Vacuum Cleaner
- 1). Turn off and unplug your Hoover Wind Tunnel Canister vacuum. If your vacuum has a dust bag, remove and dispose of it. If your vacuum has a dirt cup, remove the cup, dispose of the debris within it and set it aside.
- 2). Place your foot on the quick disconnect foot pedal located on the side of the power nozzle tube where the power nozzle connects to the extension wand. Press down to unlock the wand from the nozzle. Slide the wand out of the power nozzle tube and set it aside.
- 3). Push the thumb latch on the other end of the extension wand to unlock it from the hose. Pull the wand end carefully from the hose end. Set the wand aside.
- 4). Press down and hold the disconnect button where the hose connects to the canister to unlock the hose. Pull the hose from the canister.
- 5). Store the canister body and parts.
- 1). Turn off and unplug your Hoover Wind Tunnel Upright vacuum. If your vacuum has a dust bag, open the bag compartment door, pull the door from the vacuum and dispose of the bag. If your vacuum has a dirt cup, pull the cup from the vacuum, dispose of the debris inside of it and then set the cup aside.
- 2). Open the storage area door at the front of the vacuum. Remove the powered hand tool. Set it aside.
- 3). Unsnap and remove the attachments -- for example, furniture nozzle, dusting brush and crevice tool -- from the attachment storage area. Set the attachments aside.
- 4). Unclip and remove the wand(s) from the vacuum. Set the wand(s) aside.
- 5). Pull the bottom end of the hose carefully from the hose tube on the rack. Twist the other end of the hose to unlock it from the dirt duct tube. Pull the end from the duct and set the hose aside.
- 6). Remove the screws from the back of the handle with a screwdriver. If you can't remove the screws, the screws are likely held in place by nuts inside the back of the bag compartment. Unscrew the nuts with your fingers or a wrench and then pull the screws.
- 7). Pull the handle carefully from the vacuum. If the vacuum has a non-built in cord wrap, slide the wrap straight up from the back of the handle to detach it before removing the handle.
- 8). Store the main vacuum body and parts.
