    • 1). Place the key into the ignition and set it to the off position.

    • 2). Look under the dash on the drivers side and locate the data link port. It is generally found directly under the steering wheel or slightly to the left of it.

    • 3). Locate pins four and eight. The port will most likely not be numbered. Start at the first pin on the top and count to four, that will be pin four. The last pin on the top section will be pin eight.

    • 4). Connect the two pins with a jumper wire. A jumper wire is any type of small electrical wire that has metal such as copper inside of the insulation. Leave this wire connected the entire time. The vehicle will automatically lock and then unlock the doors when the wire is properly connected.

    • 5). Close all doors on the vehicle and turn the key in the ignition to an on position. Wait for the doors to lock.

    • 6). Hold down both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote. It will take about 15 seconds for the car to respond by locking and unlocking all doors. Once this occurs, release the buttons.

    • 7). Remove the jumper wire and replace the cover of the data port if one was removed.
