How to Change the Heating Element in a Magic Chef CYE2000AYW Dryer
- 1). Unplug the power cord. Insert the tip of the putty knife into the gap under the top panel in the front of the dryer. Press the knife into the internal clips about 2 inches from each corner.
- 2). Lift the top panel up to rest on the wall behind the dryer.
- 3). Remove the screws holding the front panel in place. Lift the front panel up to detach it from the base.
- 4). Unplug the electrical connector leading to the door switch. Set the front panel aside.
- 5). Move the idler pulley away from the belt. Slide the belt off of the drum.
- 6). Pull the drum out through the front of the Magic Chef CYE2000AYW dryer.
- 7). Remove the screws holding the heating element assembly to the back of the cabinet. Unplug the wire connectors hooked to the assembly. Remove the heating element assembly from the cabinet.
- 8). Slide the heating element out of the housing. Insert the new element in its place.
- 9). Replace the heating element assembly into the cabinet. Plug the electrical connectors into their sockets. Install the screws that hold the housing in place.

Replace the drum inside the Magic Chef dryer. Loop the belt around the drum. Move the idler pulley toward the belt to tighten it. - 11
Replace the front panel. Plug in the door switch connector to its socket. Install the screws that hold the front panel in place. Lower the top panel onto the cabinet.
