PA Hire For Beginners

Ok so you need to hire a PA for an event.
Birthdays, weddings, gigs and corporate events all need to hire PA to provide live or recorded music.
If you have a DJ you will also need to hire a PA.
If the venue does not provide a PA then you will need to go to your nearest pro audio supplier and talk to them about hiring a PA.
Worried you don't know anything about the size of the PA you need? The brand or how many speakers you will need? Its really not as frightening as you think.
Read on to find out about some of the things you will need to think about before you call.
First on the list of questions a PA hire company will have for you if what is the size of the venue? They will probably ask for the name of the venue and if they are a quality local supplier will hopefully know it.
If they don't you will need to know the capacity of the venue and roughly how many people will be attending.
Second on the list will be what type of event is it and the type of music being played? The PA you hire will need to be allot louder if its a dance music event for an 18th birthday than it would need to be if you were amplifying a local choir.
Third, Are there any special requirements you need with your PA hire package? Perhaps you would like a radio mic or the DJ has requested a particular CDJ to hire.
Lighting and effects could be seen as an extension to the PA system.
Many PA hire companies will refer to the PA as a sound system.
DJs will also ask about sound system hire rather than PA.
Remember DJs always want you to hire a big loud sound system but dont be threatened, If you wish to have a sound system you hire a little quiter or cant afford a bigger one dont panic.
Remember its your event and you should have the system any way you want it.
