    • 1). Load the DVD into your computer's CD/DVD burner.

    • 2). Load your CD/DVD burning software. Click the "Copy DVD-Video Movies to CD" option. Wait for the CD/DVD burning software to analyze the DVD to determine the amount of compression that will be needed to squeeze the multi-gigabyte movie onto a standard 700 megabyte CD, and generate a list of files contained on the DVD that you can select to copy to the CD.

    • 3). Select the movie file and the menu file from the DVD content's list.

    • 4). Click "Copy DVD to CD." The CD/DVD burning software will rip the movie file from the DVD and compress it to a smaller size. It will also copy the menu.

    • 5). Remove the DVD from the CD/DVD burner when it ejects and insert the blank CD when prompted. The CD/DVD burning software will begin burning the file to blank CD and eject it when completed.
