How to Write on DVDs With a Permanent Marker
- 1). Remove the DVDs from the cases. If you leave the DVDs in the cases, there is a chance that you could scratch the DVD without meaning to.
- 2). Set the DVDs on a soft surface, like a bath towel or a soft fiber cloth. Set the side that actually plays the DVD down, with the label side up. The label side is the side you should write on. You should not write on the side that is read by the scanner.
- 3). Use a soft cloth to wipe off the surface of the DVD where you would like to write. If you notice any sticky things or actual pieces of dirt stuck to the surface of the DVD, you can take some water or some glass cleaner and spray on the DVD to get it cleaned.
- 4). Let the DVD dry completely if you have wet it or used glass cleaner.
- 5). Think about what you would like to write, and make sure you have planned it out. Lightly trace the letters or numbers you'll be writing with the cap still on the marker, to make sure that there will be room on the DVD for everything you'd like to put on it.
- 6). Uncap the permanent marker and use it to write on the DVD's surface.
- 7). Let what you've written dry completely before you put the DVD back in its case.
