How to Remove the Seat in a 1993 Honda Shadow VLX
- 1). Locate the bracket that secures the top of the oil tank to the motorcycle frame. It is near the middle of the motorcycle seat on the right side of the Honda VLX. The Allen bolt that holds the seat to the frame is located between the seat and the oil tank, where the bracket goes under the seat.
- 2). Place the long end of an Allen wrench between the oil pump and the seat. Push the seat up and out of your way so you can see the Allen bolt.
- 3). Remove the bolt from the motorcycle frame using the Allen wrench. If you have trouble turning the wrench, clamp a pair of pliers or vice grips onto the elbow of the wrench to increase your leverage.
- 4). Locate the bolt on the other side of the seat and remove it with the Allen wrench.
- 5). Pull the seat off the motorcycle frame.
