    • 1). Examine the ice maker's LCD display. Press the "Ice Off" button on the refrigerator's control panel if a small cup-shaped "ICE OFF" icon appears. The ice dispenser will turn back on and start producing ice cubes. Allow 24 hours for the first cubes to appear in the ice cube bin. You might have accidentally turned off the ice maker.

    • 2). Test the water dispenser; water filling your glass indicates the appliance's water supply is working properly. Check the cold water intake pipe at the back of the appliance for kinks or twists if the water dispenser doesn't work as you expect. Ensure the shut-off valve regulating the water supply is in the "Open" position.

    • 3). Open the freezer, pull out the ice maker and press the "Test" button on its underside. The mechanism should fill its ice cube molds with water when it is working correctly. The mechanism could be defective if the ice maker does not respond to the "Test" button.

    • 4). Adjust the freezer temperature by tapping the "Freezer" button if the display shows a reading above 0 Fahrenheit or -18 Celsius. Warm temperatures cause cubes to stick together and become lodged in the mechanism. Any temperature changes take 24 hours to take effect. Complete Step 5 if you discover a temperature problem.

    • 5). Remove the ice cube pin and tip its contents into the kitchen sink. Wash the bucket with warm water, melting away any large chunks of ice. The ice auger could be frozen in place if cubes have melted and stuck together in a large group. Use a chopstick to dislodge any cubes trapped in the dispenser nozzle or chute. Thoroughly dry the bucket and replace it in the freezer. Wait at least 24 hours for new cubes.
