Female Acne Forms

Several studies have analyzed hair follicle chemistry and serum (blood) chemistry to determine differences in androgen, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, lipases, etc.
Levels between men and women, men with and without acne and women with and without acne.
While these tests have determined males have more testosterone than females, there seems to be no "smoking gun" regarding irregularities between those with or without acne, with one important exception.
The problem is that females with acne have significantly higher serum androgen levels than the female without acne.
Since androgens target the skin, it would be logical that higher serum androgen levels would translate into higher skin levels and folliclular androgen levels.
The above research was published less than two years ago and the doctors still are unable to find subsequent research to confirm or elaborate on these findings, at this time.
Pregnancy Without going into a complex explanation, the problem here, is quite simple: pregnancy causes significant increases in serum (blood) hormone and androgen levels.
These changes can manifest in the skin in the form of acne (or elevated degrees of acne), pigment and various forms of inflammation.
Each of these conditions has relationships to the mineral content of the skin and while pregnant or nursing it is important to discuss balanced nutrition and the use of dietary supplements with your physician.
There are many causes, but the most known is the stress, and bad alimentation.
For people with moderate to severe acne, or it is wise to get acne under control prior to pregnancy.
Maintaining or controlling acne during the pregnancy and nursing will then be much easier.
Acne rosacea This is the most known type of acne, at a women.
Acne rosacea is difficult to treat because it involves the treatment of two different conditions.
Some of the ingredients used in many acne treatments are irritating and inflaming to the skin and may be especially irritating to rosacea.
Using these products may cause a rosacea flare-up, which in turn will stimulate or aggravate the acne.
Areas of the skin affected by rosacea are sensitive to stimulants that cause vasodilation (opening of the capillaries).
These include direct hot sunlight, hot temperatures, vigorous exercise, hot showers, saunas, etc.
Hot drinks or foods, spicy foods and alcohol that cause skin flushing may also provoke the condition.
These physical conditions and foods should be avoided, as they may provoke rosacea and in turn provoke acne.
Science does not have a clear understanding of the causes of rosacea.
There has been research showing a relationship between an intestinal bacteria, Helicobacter pylori, and rosacea and other research questioning this relationship.
The bacteria is associated with higher serum (blood) levels of interleukin-8 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (mentioned above), which can travel to the skin, or these two cytokines can also be manufactured within the skin.
Both chemicals can cause skin inflammation, which can aggravate or stimulate acne.
