How to Remove a Start Up Task Bar

    • 1). Click the "Start" button. In the "Search" field, type "MSCONFIG." Press "Enter."

    • 2). Click the "Selective Startup" radio button on the "General" tab.

    • 3). Click the "Startup" tab. Here, you will see a list of all the programs that start up together with Windows and that will appear on your task bar. Look through the list and uncheck whichever items you want to remove.

    • 4). Click "Apply." Then, click "OK." You will be asked to restart your computer. Click "Restart computer" and allow your computer to restart. The items you removed from the list will no longer start up together with Windows. You will be notified upon restart that you are using "selective startup." If you are happy with the way your computer is now running, simply check the box labeled "don't show this anymore."
