How to Remove the Gauge Cluster on a 1997 Saturn SC1
- 1). Remove the end cap retaining bolts on both sides of the dashboard with a socket wrench.
- 2). Place a screwdriver behind the end caps and pry it away from the dashboard.
- 3). Place a screwdriver behind the small trim piece surrounding the cigarette lighter and pry it away from the cigarette lighter.
- 4). Place a screwdriver behind the trim piece surrounding the air ducts and radio and pry it away from the dashboard.
- 5). Pry up the retaining clips on both ends of the dashboard with a screwdriver.
- 6). Remove the two retaining bolts revealed after removing the retaining clips in the previous step with a socket wrench.
- 7). Place a screwdriver between the upper dashboard panel and the dashboard and pry the panel up to disengage the retaining clips.
- 8). Pull the upper panel out of the interior.
- 9). Remove with a screwdriver the four screws holding the instrument cluster trim piece to the instrument cluster.

Pull the instrument cluster trim piece away from the instrument cluster and disconnect the electrical connections from the trim piece. - 11
Remove the four bolts with a socket wrench holding the instrument cluster to the dashboard. - 12
Pull the instrument cluster away from the dashboard and disconnect the electrical connections from the instrument cluster.
