How to Make My Music CD-R Work in My CD Player
- 1). Open an audio CD burning program on your computer. If there isn't one currently installed (an uncommon occurence) then there are free programs available online. ITunes or Windows Media Player are popular options.
- 2). Insert the blank CD-R into the computer. The audio CD burning program should register the inserted media.
- 3). Check what CD formats the desired CD player can handle. Almost every CD player can handle the basic audio CD; however, some can also read MP3 CDs. MP3 CDs generally allow for more audio tracks--think of it as an ad hoc iPod. Usually the word "MP3" is printed somewhere outside the player to indicate that it can recognize that format.
- 4). Prepare the playlist for the CD by choosing the desired music to be copied. Make sure that the audio files are not longer than the allotted length for each CD. Often there is a progress bar within the program window which shows how much space is available.
- 5). Press "Record" or "Burn CD" once the playlist is ready and the audio files are in order. Make sure you choose which type of CD format is desired (audio or MP3).
- 6). Insert the burned CD into the CD player and press "Play." The audio should begin playing.
