How to Remove Door Panels on a 1996 GMC Sonoma

    • 1). Place the window crank removal tool behind the window crank. Push on the tool to release the clip that holds the window crank in place, then pull the crank straight off of the door.

    • 2). Look inside of the armrest handle and locate the plastic panel at the bottom. Pop off the panel using the flathead screwdriver. Remove the bolt underneath using the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket.

    • 3). Remove the screw behind the interior door handle using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the trim panel off of the door handle.

    • 4). Pull the door panel off of the door to release the clips. Lift the door panel up off of the window channel, then set it to the side.
