Campground Review and Description
Description:
The campground, its facilities and staff were great, but they accepted a booking for a group called “Bus 'n Bikes” for the same week we were there. This group consisted of around forty $2.5 million “luxury coaches” each accompanied by a 25ft long trailer of toys -Harleys, golf carts, segues, etc.
This overloaded, blew the electrical transformer during two consecutive dinner times resulting in no flush toilets or other essentials for the rest of the campers.
On both occasions the luxury coach owners all started up their generators resulting in us being gassed out of our sites. This is but one example of the many negative effects we experienced as a result of the “Bus ‘n Bikes” group. This campground is not physically equipped to handle these vehicles. If you think of booking here, ensure that this group will not also be there to ruin your vacation as it is an annual get-together.
Pros, Cons, Attractions and Additional Comments
Pros: Facilities, staff, location, restaurant were all great - but avoid your vacation coinciding with this group's rendezvous at all costs.
Cons: “Bus 'n Bikes” group’s loud get-togethers in a centralized tent structure every evening, congestion due to extremely large RV units and accompanying toys, the group cut through other campers' campsites and even felt entitled to sit at our friends' picnic table at nighttime to conduct their conversations and business deals.
Attractions: Based on comments made by members of this group, we were led to believe that they had reserved/paid for use of one entire section of this campground. If true, West Glacier KOA was double-dipping by also charging us for unused sites. We asked for management to contact us to address our concerns, but have heard nothing in the two weeks since we left.
